Method #1:
- Start by scraping the wax using a butter knife. The wax should be dry and hard.
- There will be some loose particles left on the carpet. Use a vacuum to get rid of them. If you are still seeing lumps of wax on the carpet, keep scraping with the butter knife. Again, blow the loose particles with a vacuum.
- Place a damp clean towel to cover the entire area of the stain.
- Get a hair dryer and set it a low temperature. Place it over the damp towel. The remaining wax should melt and be absorbed into the towel. If the temperature is too low, set at medium.
- Repeat the heating step until all the wax is absorbed into the towel. You can use another towel if there is still wax on the carpet.
- Similar to removing oil stains, you can use rubbing alcohol, or a carpet cleaning detergent, to clean the area where the stain was. Use a spoon to spread the soap. When you are satisfied with cleaning, use a clean dry towel to dry the area.
- Leave your carpet to dry.
Method #2:

- Vacuum the area to remove any wax chunks on the carpet
- Use regular detergent to damp the affected area. Absorb the moisture with a clean towel and let it dry your carpet.
